HAMS Token Skyrocketed in Value Thanks to Live Streaming of Hamster Races

The price of the Ethereum-based token HAMS, which is linked to Hamsters.gg, a website where users can wager on live-streamed hamster races, has increased by 783% over the course of a day on the Uniswap V2 decentralized exchange.

Hamster racing, and animal racing in general, became the latest craze in crypto over the weekend as crypto users speculate through livestreamed races. Traders also piled on the associated tokens in the newly formed “animal racing” category.

The price increased from about $0.29 on Thursday to a peak of $3.11, before dropping to $1.10 at the time of writing.

The coin’s market capitalization has jumped from $1 million to over $31 million over the same period, and it has seen over $19.8 million in trading volume in the last 24 hours.

Crypto traders have paid close attention to and shown speculative interest in the price fluctuation. In the Hamsters.gg telegram group, some people speculated that HAMS may surpass a $100 million market cap.
