In Summary

  • Raoul Pal’s view of the crypto market has not changed.
  • He thinks crypto summer will happen on the back of falling inflation and debt cycles.
  • He said investors need to keep their cool and educate themselves.
  • Pal also hinted at which asset will outperform others.

Real Vision CEO Raoul Pal sat down with CoinTelegraph for an interview to discuss all things crypto, and he had some interesting insights to share. Pal, a well-known commentator in the industry, stated that his opinion about crypto had not changed at all.

When asked how his views differed from the last conversation with the interviewer, Pal said, “Zero. I’ve been around this since 2012. I’ve seen these. Yes, it’s quiet right now in crypto, but the ongoing adoption, let’s say the number of active addresses keeps rising over time.”

Crypto Spring on the Horizon

Pal believes that while a recession is still a possibility, Crypto Spring is very close. He acknowledged that the macroeconomic environment is somewhat mixed, but he sees an improving outlook.

“We’re already seeing the light at the end of the tunnel on the other side, which is why assets have been strong and everyone’s like what, why is the NASDAQ up 40% and why is, you know, Bitcoin up 60%? It’s because they’re already pricing it. So, I’m incredibly positive.”

Pal’s bullish outlook is rooted in the expectation of potential rate cuts by central banks in response to slowing or falling inflation, although this might not occur until well into 2024.

Does Bitcoin Halving Play a Role?

The Real Vision CEO believes that the Bitcoin (BTC) halving coincides with the debt refinance cycle. He considers the popular belief that the Bitcoin halving drives up prices a “false narrative.”

He explained, “But it doesn’t matter because it all works, right. It’s the same cycle, so you can measure anywhere you want.”

What the Bull Run May Bring

In regards to what investors should do, Pal believes it is key to be prepared and keep a cool head. He advises people to carefully consider their decisions and educate themselves as much as possible. While he discourages buying into FOMO (Fear of Missing Out), he also shares his thoughts on assets that may perform well.

Pal mentioned the usual suspects, Bitcoin and Ethereum (ETH), but highlighted that ETH remains his largest investment and could potentially outperform Bitcoin. Additionally, Pal noted that Solana (SOL) is one of the most undervalued assets in his opinion.

He said, “If Solana continues to pick up economic activity in the way that it’s doing it will outperform ETH, simple as that. And looking at previous cycles, those kinds of things tend to do, you know that 10/20/30 X, you know ETH did 47X from the low from 2018. So, Solana, could it do 47X? Maybe, maybe not.'”
