Coinbase has teamed up with PayPal to make crypto purchasing easier in Australia, allowing users to instantly buy digital assets using their existing PayPal-linked bank accounts and cards. The move supports faster onboarding in a country where crypto ownership now exceeds five million Australians.

Previously, Coinbase Australia supported PayID, debit cards, bank transfers, and crypto deposits. The PayPal integration now gives users a faster and more familiar method to engage with Coinbase’s platform, including trading, staking, and stablecoin rewards.

Coinbase said the integration reflects its long-term goal of onboarding one billion people into crypto and highlights Australia as a key growth region. The company also noted the need to simplify onramps as part of building a more inclusive financial system.

Australians can now buy, add, and withdraw AUD through Coinbase using PayPal. To use the feature, the PayPal account must match the Coinbase account’s legal name and country, and only one PayPal account can be active at a time.
