Ethereum Investors Who Become Victims of Cybercrime Tend to See Better Gains: Research

A research paper on Ethereum investors who have fallen victim to cybercrime found that they tend to see better gains after becoming victims. The study identified various cybercrime categories, with Ponzi schemes accounting for the majority of funds stolen. Surprisingly, the research also revealed that the Federal Trade Commission has been underestimating the amount of Ethereum lost to scams by a factor of 16. The findings suggest that as the crypto market matures, institutions and stricter requirements are making crypto companies more legitimate.
