Blockchain Data Links North Korea’s Lazarus Group to $54M CoinEx Hack
According to blockchain sleuth ZachXBT and verified by CoinDesk, North Korean attackers may be responsible for the recent security breach at CoinEx exchange. The hackers exploited a security vulnerability in the exchange’s wallets and drained an estimated $54 million worth of tokens, including ETH, XRP, TRX, MATIC, SOL, KDA, and XDAG. Analysis of the suspicious addresses used in the attack revealed connections to the Lazarus Group, known for targeting crypto businesses.
